41. World Gallery of Cartoons Skopje Osten / Macedonia 13th January 2013 - 28th February 2013

You are invited to participate on the 41.World Gallery of Cartoons, Skopje 2013, awarding:
FIRST AWARD for Caricature (1000$)
FIRST AWARD for Satiric Drawing (1000$)
FIRST AWARD for Comics (1000$)
10 SPECIAL AWARDS (plaques)
The application deadline is January 13th 2013
The pre-selection will be made by the board of OSTEN and the selected authors will be invited to provide the original works
The deadline for sending the original works is February 28th 2013
(please be aware that only original works will enter the second stage of the selection - made by the international jury)
Attached is the application form that should be completed for regular application. You can do it in one of the described ways (by your choice):
1. Fulfill the application form directly into the pdf. document ( you can do it using Adobe Reader ( http://get.adobe.com/reader ) or Nitro Reader ( http://www.nitroreader.com )
2. Print out the application form, fulfill it by hand, scan it and send it to us on our e-mail: cartoons@osten.com.mk 
In both cases - don't forget to send THE CARTOONS !!! 
(preferable format for originals: A4/A3 and preferable digital format: jpg./ 300dpi - only for the first stage of the process of selection )

The World Gallery of Cartoons is the one and only manifestation of such provenance in Macedonia, the oldest in the Balkan and one of the most long-standing in the world. It was established back in 1969 by the newsroom of the magazine Osten, making artistic forms like cartoon, satiric drawing and comic strips available to the wider audience. The World Gallery of Cartoon through time has experienced different fortune – from being completely supported by the community and institutions, to transition inability to publish an annual edition. The reappearance of the World Gallery of Cartoon in the past few years was marked by personal engagement and enthusiasm by those who refusedto agree to its elimination and hence managed to sustain it at the pleasure of the community – domestic and international. Therefore, in Skopje and Macedonia, the wide open window to the world remained open, equally accommodating the wind and rain, the sun and moon. OSTEN remained to be the ray of light obstinately defying time…
