Theme:Awakening Curiosity
Curiosity is a fundamental trait of human nature. Children are born curious – they constantly ask questions and explore the world with wonder. But as we grow older, our curiosity often fades. What if we could awaken it again?Curiosity means asking questions, exploring, wondering “what if?”, “why?”, “how?”. It is the spark of knowledge, the engine of change and creativity. The slogan “Awakening Curiosity” stems from the vision of the European Capital of Culture Trenčín 2026, which believes that culture has the power to ignite people’s interest in the world, in others, and in the future. The biennial’s theme invites you to use humour and satire to depict moments when curiosity is awakened – whether through unexpected questions, absurd situations, a child’s perspective on the world, or the sudden spark of insight that lights up our minds. What would the world look like without curiosity? And what could it become, if we rediscover it?
Competition Deadline:June 30, 2025
Competition Propositions:Each author can participate in the competition with a maximum of three works that have not been awarded in other competitions and are exclusively wordless. Works created by AI will not be accepted into the competition.
The author sends together with the work a completed participation form which he downloads from the website www.galeriahumoru.sk and fills it in Slovak, Czech or English.
The competition is open to anyone over 18 years of age. The method of artistic execution is not limited.
The works should not exceed the A3 format.
The competition is non-anonymous. Each drawing must be marked on its back with the name and the full address of the author and place the author’s signature on the front page (name, 1/XX).
The submitted drawings will not be returned to the authors but will become the property of the Municipal Cultural Centre in Nové Mesto nad Váhom. Works are to be delivered by post to the address:

The file name must match the following pattern:

If you have submitted your work electronically and it will be awarded a prize, you will be asked to send the original drawing to the organizer within one month of the announcement of the results of the competition to the address of the Municipal Cultural Centre (see above).
Awards:
1. prize Golden Novomestskı osteň and 1000 €
2. prize Silver Novomestskı osteň and 500 €
3. prize Bronze Novomestskı osteň and 300 €
Material and financial prizes are awarded at the ceremonial opening of the Novomestskı osteň exhibition which will be held on September 19, 2025. In the case you will not be able to participate in person, the prizes will be sent to you.
The jury of the competition reserves the right not to award any of the above mentioned prizes, or to award 10 honorable mentions or other special prizes. The jury’s decision is final.
By participating in the competition, the participant confirms that he is the author of the works (works created by AI will not be accepted into the competition) and agrees that the organizer of the competition has the right to publish the works on the Internet or in other media and also to use them in any other way without restriction.
By sending the works, the author declares that the organizer of the competition has the right to reproduce copies for publication free of charge in electronic means, in printed media and other sources without further consents and rewards.
Entries may not infringe copyright or the rights of others, may not infringe confidentiality or contain defamation or insult to any company, community or person.
The author sends together with the work a completed participation form which he downloads from the website www.galeriahumoru.sk and fills it in Slovak, Czech or English.
By sending the completed form, the author or his legal representatives agree to the processing of their personal data for the purpose of organization of the competition.

Konu: Uyanış Merak
Merak, insan doğasının temel bir özelliğidir. Çocuklar meraklı doğarlar – sürekli sorular sorarlar ve dünyayı merakla keşfederler. Ancak yaşlandıkça, merakımız genellikle kaybolur. Ya onu tekrar uyandırabilseydik? Merak, soru sormak, keşfetmek, "ya eğer?", "neden?", "nasıl?" diye merak etmek demektir. Bilginin kıvılcımı, değişimin ve yaratıcılığın motorudur. "Merakı Uyandırmak" sloganı, kültürün insanların dünyaya, başkalarına ve geleceğe olan ilgisini ateşleme gücüne sahip olduğuna inanan 2026 Avrupa Kültür Başkenti Trenčín'in vizyonundan kaynaklanmaktadır. Bienalin teması, beklenmedik sorular, absürt durumlar, bir çocuğun dünyaya bakış açısı ya da zihnimizi aydınlatan ani içgörü kıvılcımı aracılığıyla merakın uyandığı anları tasvir etmek için sizi mizah ve hiciv kullanmaya davet ediyor. Merak olmasaydı dünya nasıl görünürdü? Ve eğer onu yeniden keşfedersek neye dönüşebilir?
Yarışmaya son katılım Tarihi:30 Haziran 2025
Yarışma Kuralları:Her yazar, diğer yarışmalarda ödül almamış ve münhasıran sözsüz olan en fazla üç eserle yarışmaya katılabilir. Yapay zeka tarafından oluşturulan eserler yarışmaya kabul edilmeyecektir.
Yazar, çalışma ile birlikte web sitesinden indirdiği doldurulmuş bir katılım formunu gönderir www.galeriahumoru.sk ve Slovakça, Çekçe veya İngilizce olarak doldurur.
Yarışma 18 yaşından büyük herkese açıktır. Sanatsal uygulama yöntemi sınırlı değildir.
Çalışmalar A3 formatını aşmamalıdır.
Yarışma anonim değildir. Her çizimin arka yüzüne yazarın adı ve açık adresi yazılmalı ve ön sayfaya yazarın imzası atılmalıdır (isim, 1/XX).
Gönderilen çizimler yazarlara iade edilmeyecek, ancak Belediye Kültür Dairesi'nin mülkiyetine geçecektir. Nové Mesto nad Váhom'daki merkez. Eserler posta yoluyla şu adrese teslim edilmelidir:

19 Eylül 2025 tarihinde düzenlenecek olan Novomestskı osteň sergisinin törensel açılışında maddi ve mali ödüller verilmektedir. Şahsen katılamamanız durumunda, ödüller size gönderilecektir.
Yarışma jürisi, yukarıda belirtilen ödüllerden herhangi birini vermeme veya 10 mansiyon ödülü veya diğer özel ödülleri verme hakkını saklı tutar. Jürinin kararı kesindir.
Katılımcı, yarışmaya katılarak, eserlerin yazarı olduğunu onaylar (AI tarafından oluşturulan eserler yarışmaya kabul edilmeyecektir) ve yarışma organizatörünün eserleri internette veya başka bir medyada yayınlama ve ayrıca bunları kısıtlama olmaksızın başka herhangi bir şekilde kullanma hakkına sahip olduğunu kabul eder.
Yazar, eserleri göndererek, yarışma organizatörünün, başka bir izin ve ödül olmaksızın elektronik araçlarda, basılı medyada ve diğer kaynaklarda ücretsiz olarak yayınlanmak üzere kopyaları çoğaltma hakkına sahip olduğunu beyan eder.
Başvurular telif hakkını veya başkalarının haklarını ihlal edemez, gizliliği ihlal edemez veya hakaret içeremez veya herhangi bir şirkete, topluluğa veya kişiye hakaret.
