The Croatian Cartoonist Association exhibit in Istanbul 5 October 2013 |

On Saturday, October 5, the Croatian Cartoonist Association exhibit was opened in the city center of Istanbul presenting the Croatian cartoon. It is the follow-up of the Croatian cartoon presentation in the world which started two years ago in Norway and was continued last year with an exhibit in Saint Just le Martel in France.
There were about 60 guests at the opening (most of whom were Turkish cartoonists) and among them there were Amir Muharemi, Consul General of Croatia in Istanbul and the director of libraries and muzeums of İstanbul metropolitan municipality Ramazan Minder, who opened the exhibit together with Metin Peker, the president of the Turkish Cartoonists' Association and Davor Trgovčević, the president of the Cratian Cartoon Association.
An arrangement was made with the friendly hosts from the Turkish Cartoonists' Association to have an exhibit in Croatia presenting Turkish cartoon which should take place in 2014.
At the exhibit were present Davor Trgovčević, the president of the Cratian Cartoon Association, Zdenko Puhin, General Secretary and Milan Lekić, the Vice President, who thrilled the guests with his blitz portrait cartoons which most of the guests got as a
present. |

1st International Biennial Of
Caricature Brazil 2013 |

Caricatures and cartoons, which for two centuries did laugh and give the talk, will be exhibited from November 27 in Centro Cultural Justiça Federal (Federal Justice Cultural Center) in Rio, and displayed throughout Brazil, the first truly national Biennial of Brazilian cartoonists and caricaturists, will happen simultaneously in multiple states.
The 1st INTERNATIONAL BIENNIAL OF CARICATURE is an event designed by cartoonist and historian Luciano Magno , author of "História da Caricature Brasileira" (History of Brazilian Caricature) with the support and realization of the Centro Cultural Justiça Federal, Museu Nacional de Belas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts) and other cultural institutions in Brazil. Event aims to be one of the largest in the world, with 25 historical and contemporary exhibitions in several Brazilian states, with 40 programs in all.
Artists such as Manoel de Araújo Porto-Alegre (Brazil patron caricature ), Calixto Cordeiro, Cavalcante, Cau Gomez, Glen Batoca, Hermé, Zé Andrade, and Alpino, among others, will have solo exhibitions. Complete schedule will be announced soon. |

The Event Organization has announced the contest open to cartoonists from around the world, spreading regulation Complete "Exhibition Humour 1st International Biennial of Caricature", which will award the winning artists in the categories cartoon, charge and caricature, caricature and sculpture, with SETH Trophy (named after one of the greatest Brazilian cartoonists of all time, Seth - pseudonym of Álvaro Marins ), made by sculptor Genin Guerra.

Artists such as brazilians Genin Guerra (from Minas Gerais), Manohead (from Santa Catarina), Guidacci (from Amazon), Adail (from São Paulo), plus caricaturists like Hermé and Lula Palomanes with solo shows in Rio de Janeiro.
In the states of Brazil, the first International Biennial of Caricature exhibition will feature artists such as J. Bosco and Biratan (Pará), Jota A and Izânio (Piauí), Hercules (Alagoas), Clériston and Samuca (Pernambuco), Fred Ozanan (Paraíba), and in state of Ceará a briefing organized by the young cartoonist Cival Einstein. The list is extensive, and will also feature Brazilian women cartoonists like Liliana Ostrovsky and Fani Loss.
In state of São Paulo there will be debates, presenting a show with national and international cartoonists .
In state of Rio Grande do Sul, the book História da Caricatura Brasileira (History of Brazilian Caricature) will be reissued with a roundtable discussion at the Centro Cultural Érico Verissimo (Cultural Center Érico Veríssimo) about the patron of Brazilian caricature, Manoel de Araújo Porto-Alegre, which will be attended by Brazilians researchers Wagner Passos, Luciano Magno, and masters such as Santiago and Edgar Vasques |

The competition is open to authors all over the world.

11)The Right to Utilize the Work
For the sole purpose of publicizing the Award and the future AYACC or similar award(s) organized by the Organizer, the Organizer shall have the right, without notice to the applicant, to utilize the Work in whole or in part by means of broadcast (regardless of media), online transmission (including but not limited to the internet and mobile communications), exhibition, and distribution (e.g. in the form of a videogram) free of any payment to the applicant.

1.The THEME is CRISAN Publishing House - 15 Years! , with the subjects:
a.The Children Books of CRISAN Publishing House (books, characters, fairy-tales...).
b.Funny congratulations and wishes for our age - 15 years! (cartoons, of course)
c.Portraits of the CRISAN Publishing House founder - Horia CRISAN.
d.Cartoons with our mascot LULI and ideas for a new logo design.
Separate of the cartoons contest, we also organize:
e.A special contest with drawings from kids, ages up until 8, with prizes consisting of Editura CRISAN’s books, in value of 500 $, on the themes from points a, b and d.
f.A contest for parents or grandparents, with short texts on the theme “What I like, what I don’t like and what I would like from Editura CRISAN?” with prizes consisting of Editura CRISAN’s books, in value of 500 $.

2.The 8th HumoDEVA INTERNATIONAL CARTOON CONTEST is an open competition for cartoonists all over the world. The Participation is free of charge. For all the cartoonists accepted in the contest, the drawings will be displayed FREE OF CHARGE on
HumoDEVA’s
site.
3.You can submit an unlimited number of entries.
The Deadline for sending works ONLY by e-mail is October 31rst 2013 at the e-mail address humodeva@gmail.com .
4.The works must be digitized in 300 DPI resolution, RGB color mode, in JPG format, with the maximum limit of 10 MB. Works should be accompanied by the author’s photo or caricature and a short biography in English, including date of birth, education, profession, citizenship, awards, publications and exhibitions. The contact details should also be mentioned.
5.The decisions of the Jury are final. The Jury will award the following 15 prizes for the best works, no mater the subject (see article 1):
The FIRST PRIZE: 1000 $ and Honorary Diploma
The SECOND PRIZE: 700 $ and Honorary Diploma
The THIRD PRIZE: 400 $ and Honorary Diploma
12 “Prize of Excellence”: Honorary Diploma
Other Special Prizes offered by the sponsors may be awarded.
6. As soon as the works arrive at us, we will select and display them in the virtual gallery of
HumoDEVA2013 - CRISAN Publishing House 15
Years! , an online and permanent exhibition! So, you can visit us from time to time, to see if your drawings arrived, how many of them were selected for the contest, and if you are one of the winners!
The monetary prizes can be paid in Deva or can be posted/wire transferred on the receiver’s expense. The organizer does not assume any liability regarding taxes or bank charges. The originals of the prize winning works should be sent in maximum two weeks from the results announcement, well wrapped and protected against damages. Attention, this is a mandatory condition for sending your money prize! The mail address for sending originals is (only for the prized cartoons, at our request): CRISAN Publishing House, Mihai Viteazu, bl 47, ap 1, 330.091 Deva, jud. Hunedoara, ROMANIA.
7. All selected cartoonists will get, free of charge, a full-color Catalogue of the Special 2013 HumoDEVA INTERNATIONAL CARTOON CONTEST, in PDF format.
8. The organizers retain the right to use all the drawings received to promote HumoDEVA competition & CRISAN Publishing House (to make exhibitions in Romania or abroad, to publish them in newspapers, magazines, books, posters, postal cards, internet, multimedia products and in any other form, without any compensation or fee to the authors).

Dear friends, participants of the Contest 2IS13 !
We have concluded with the event. The jury, after many hours of carefully evaluation, made its final verdict.
We are pleased to announce the results of the winners of 2IS13 !
The Jury:
Gustavo Fabián Abalde: Visual Technician and Visual Arts Professor.
Andrea Elena Polito: Visual Artist and Visual Arts Proffesor.
Cecilia Goñi: Visual Art Proffesor, Visual Technician. Exhibitor and Muralist.
...conducted the selection based on the following criteria:
ELOQUENCE - incidence of the message inscribed .
METAPHOR - the illustration that does not fall into the obvious or literal .
BEAUTY - The care and effort put into realization of the work.
Finally , as a guideline for the selection was considered the MEANING OF HOPE (from POSITIVE loo ) , they choose images that would generate that POSITIVITY .
The jury said: " As we consider the diverse cultures it was somewhat complicated when taking word HOPE worked IN OPPOSITION . Assess for award is not an easy task, since there was a great amount of really good works. We believe that the choice of illustrations we made, meet the specified criteria, this images are POETIC, since they open - through metaphor , to multiple interpretations . "

• During the next week we will be sending the corresponding Diploma to the participants whose works have been selected for Itinerant Exhibition of Social Illustrations ( EIIIS! ) .
• On the day of the Award , we will present the Digital Catalog EIIIS! , which will be sent to you after that date .
